Installation

This is really a list of pictures of the installation as we went along, there's more detail of each of the parts in other sections.

Many layouts were tried out to see what fitted best. In the end a multi-layered install was chosen.

Test positioning of battery. It's secured in place by blocks on the floor and straps over the top.

Testing the front panel in place.

Beginning the rear compartment installation.

The rear compartment assembled. The Orion B2B has a fan fitted with a green air spreader which operates when charging to keep the unit well cooled.

Top view of the rear compartment showing the wire routing.

A conventional 12V fuse box was installed to replace much of what the CBE DS300 unit used to perform. This is all low power connections.

Covers made for the battery terminals to avoid accidental connections.

Top view of the installed rear compartment. To the left are the ventilation fans, back panel L-R are invertor, IP22 charger and Orion 30A B2B. Front panel L-R 100/30 MPPT and 100/20 MPPT. On the end panel is a separate fuse box for fans.

Front panel installation in progress, multiple fuses boxes installed and labelled. Master switch and master fuse in top left of the picture, original CBE DS300 on the left.
